At Golden Tai Expeditions (GTE), we understand that travel plans require commitment from both the traveler and our team. Once a booking is confirmed, we begin securing vehicles, accommodation, guides, permits, activities, and other services on your behalf.
Our policy helps us protect those commitments while treating our guests fairly.
A booking is confirmed once:
A quotation or provisional itinerary does not guarantee availability until the booking is confirmed.
The required deposit and payment deadlines will be clearly stated on your quotation or invoice.
Bookings made close to the travel date may require full payment.
Failure to make payment by the agreed deadline may result in the booking being released.
Unless different terms are stated on your booking confirmation:
| Cancellation Notice | Applicable Cancellation Charge* |
|---|---|
| More than 60 days before travel | Non-refundable costs already incurred |
| 31–60 days before travel | Up to 50% of booking value |
| 15–30 days before travel | Up to 75% of booking value |
| 14 days or less | Up to 100% of booking value |
| No-show | Up to 100% of booking value |
*The actual amount retained may depend on the services booked and the cancellation policies of third-party suppliers.
Accommodation providers, national parks, activity operators, transport companies, and other suppliers may have separate cancellation policies.
Where a supplier retains a payment that GTE cannot recover, that amount may be deducted from any customer refund.
Certain services may be non-refundable once booked, including some accommodation, permits, activities, special vehicle arrangements, and other advance purchases.
We will do our best to accommodate changes to travel dates, vehicles, accommodation, routes, or activities.
Changes are subject to availability and may result in additional charges.
Changes made close to the travel date may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.
In exceptional circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, security concerns, major road closures, or supplier failure — GTE may need to modify, postpone, or cancel part of a journey.
Where possible, we will offer an alternative arrangement, rescheduling, or credit.
Any refund will be handled according to the applicable booking terms and amounts recoverable from relevant suppliers.
Failure to arrive for a confirmed booking without prior notice may result in the booking being treated as a no-show, with no refund.
Unused services resulting from early departure, missed activities, or voluntary changes after the journey has started are generally non-refundable.
All cancellation requests should be submitted to Golden Tai Expeditions in writing via the official email address or other approved communication channel.
The effective cancellation date is the date GTE receives the cancellation request.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, personal belongings, travel disruption, and other relevant risks.
Travel insurance is particularly important for international travelers and self-drive expeditions.
By confirming your booking and making payment, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted GTE's Booking & Cancellation Policy and applicable Terms & Conditions.
